Miriam Aristy-Farer is a mother of 5 and 11 year old boys living in West Harlem. Born in Washington Heights and raised in Queens, her family returned to the Dominican Republic when she was 17, where she attended The Parsons School of Design, Altos de Chavon campus for three years. She received two associate degrees, one for fine arts/Illustration the other for graphic design.
Returning to NYC to further her studies in communication design at Parsons, she specialized in art direction for product branding, focusing on packaging & merchandising design. She has worked for Lauren Hutton Cosmetics, L’Oreal, and Revlon, and now freelances for boutique beauty and fashion agencies/brands. This schedule allows her to pursue community and education advocacy for Northern Manhattan.
Most recently, Ms. Aristy-Farer has served on the Community Education Council for District 6 in Northern Manhattan for two years as the Manhattan Borough President Appointee. She is currently serving as PTA Secretary of her son’s middle school.
